Interview with photographer JEE
1. What is your professional background?
I was started photography since 1996 and turned professional in 2004. My previous work was in-house Wedding Photographer. Currently work full time photographer.
2. How did you get into wedding business?
in 2004 when a friend of mine who do a makeup & hair stylist asking if I like to join the wedding team.
3. How do you like posing people, any technique?
Basicly I was started from looking at their characteristic, pretty much I just talking to them. Actually I don’t do much posing. Let they be natural. I just try to capture the good moment and reaction on somethings going on.
4. How many wedding you shots after you turn professional?
Around 40-50 weddings per year from 2004-2008, around over 200 weddings. Some wedding as short as 4 hours but most of the weddings about 10 hours from 12-10pm
5. What is your wedding style and what style the client like?
I would say they like my composition at most. In addition I’m good to combine the element of the subject and the background. They like my idea in color contrasting, element and clean. Pictures look simple but elegant.
6. How did your rate works?
I set my rate not that high. In the middle-low rate make my client more comfortable. My rate choose clients for me.
7. You found the subject or subject found you?
Subject find me, of course. When I see thing, I think about it, I look for the light direction. I’ll feel it. I don’t spend much time in one thing. I’m kind of fast shooter but calm and neat.
8. How’s your workflow during wedding high season?
Well, I do wedding for full time. I have enough time to finish my work every week. From preparation, shooting, albums layouts, prints, and DVD negative. Everything will be ready in about a month. I’ve earned reputation for the high quality product. And also short turn around time.
9. What’s your equipment for wedding day. What kind of Camera, Lenses and Lighting?
For the camrera I using digital SLR camera Canon 5D Mark 2 to benefit high quality full frame sensor.
Lenses I always using prime lenses for the best quality. I using only 5 lenses for wedding. Lighting equipment including 2 monolights for indoor and outdoor.
10. What the other area in photograpy you think you’re good beside wedding?
Architectural and small product for catalog. I usually spend times for those kind of photography. Keep practicing, keep trying new thing. |

the natural emotion and reacting of people. His portrait works combine between both object and element. Beautifully line and contrasting of lights and shape.
